Reuters - Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro who was directing two movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” has stepped down after two years on the project amid studio delays and schedule conflicts.

Diddy lends energy to uninspired comedy “Greek” (Reuters)

Original “King Kong” coming to Blu-ray (Reuters)

Scorsese lends lively narration to art docu (Reuters)

Reuters - The influence of the burgeoning medium of film during the early part of the 20th century on modern art, and Cubism in particular, is the subject of “Picasso and Braque Go to the Movies.” The documentary, directed by art dealer/film producer Arne Glimcher (”The Mambo Kings”) and produced and narrated by Martin Scorsese, features a profusion of provocative ideas and a wealth of vintage film clips but is unable to avoid having the inevitable feel of a college thesis. It opened Thursday in New York.
