Film academy sues to stop sale of Oscars (AP)

Actress Mary Pickford, 83, known as 'America's Sweetheart' when she was a superstar of Hollywood's silent film era, holds the Honorary Oscar given to her in recognition of her 'unique contributions to the film industry.'  The statue was presented to her at her home in Beverly HIlls, Calif., March 26, 1976.  The Motion Picture Academy of Arts & Sciences is suing to stop the public sale of two Academy Awards given to silent film star Mary Pickford.
